Died For Her Religious Beliefs..

A follower of the Jehovah’s Witnesses , a Christian sect gave birth to a set of twins but died from excessive loss of blood for she refused a blood transfusion according to her religion..

According to the Jehovah’s Witnesses, those who have blood transfusion will be automatically branded as outcast. Being forced out or die but she chose death.

This is very sad day. I would value life more important than faith or religion. We have been sold with alot of stories of life after death and many have misplaced faith and die for nothing. Many do not question their leaders but just follow blindly like those religious cults.

She died because they believed that they should not eat blood or have a blood transfusion as blood is the essence of life.

Is not life more important than some religious belief? If your life could be saved by modern medicine, then it is God’s wish. If after that blood transfusion and you still die, then you can believe that it is not God’s will.

There was a pastor, who read from the old Testament which stated that the blood of the animals are the life force and they should not eat them. Instead , they should pour it into the ground.

Since that day , he would not eat chicken or meat if he see blood on them. I do not agree with him but since he was the pastor, there was nothing I could do about him. I ate the blood and I don’t feel any lesser as a Christian.

This is what I am fed up of following this religion when others tell you cannot eat this and that and you sin and cannot go to Heaven.

We don’t have to follow the dietary laws of the old Testament. If others want to follow, so be it.If they don’t want to eat anything except plain bread and water, that is their business.

There was a case of another pastor who told one of his congregations bitten by a poisonous snake ,not to go to the hospital but he prayed over him and asked him to trust God alone.

After one day , he got worse and was send to the hospital . If he did not go and died, would that pastor be accountable for his death?

These people have misplaced faith and tested God. Even Jesus was tested by Satan to jump from the tallest building but He did not?

How can these ordinary mortal beings be greater than Jesus? There are many other cases where people died because their pastor preached them the wrong faith.

How soon does the danger trial expire?

it’s sad to hear stories like this unfortunately the structure of the society we live in doesn’t permit us to condemn nor concur to other’s doing, especially in sensitive personal choices includes abortion, religious decisions like this lady.

we may feel absolute stupidity in such act, but she may have thought it otherwise as a noble sacrifice of faith.

not sure about others, but i would concur to my father’s saying :”it’s better to give birth to a CHA SIEW (BBQ pork) than stupid woman like that”

Laura1318; Just like those who became human bombs and kill innocent lifes in the name of religion and call themselves martyr …are they?

laura

i appreciate your response. i am not sure the general point is fair, however. because there are commands that must be obeyed today, right? like no christian would think that murder was now okay based upon personal conviction. there are still commandments from the Old Testament that apply.

so then how can we pick and choose?

peter

Laura1318: The laws cannot be followed all, no one can follow alll those laws.It is impossible. The law was made to show that you have sinned.. that is the point of the law.

All the laws in the Bible can be summed up in 3 laws.

1) Love God with all your heart, your soul and your spirit.

2)Love your neighbour as yourself.

and

3)Moses -The Ten Commandment

If you can obey these three laws, it is good enough .
Any laws that deal with what to eat, wear or dealing with your personal liberty is not from God.
There are churches which forbid girls from wearing pants or shorts or must keep long hair ,,,etc.
Some pastors read from the OLd Testament that girls with short hair are prostitutes, so they forbid the girls to cut their hair .

God deals with your conscience.. Where there is no law, the law of the land applies That is the law of the natural justice. If you want to follow all the laws of the Bible , then I think you need to live in a cave in the deepest jungle and away from civilization..
Christianity is about love and doing good. If others want to judge us , let them….This is my understanding of this religion.

This WatchTower Society requirement that Jehovah’s Witnesses must refuse to accept any blood transfusions dates back only to 1945. Misinterpreting the Old Testament prohibition against eating animal blood as a routine food item, the WatchTower Society began teaching in 1945 that receiving a blood transfusion was “eating human blood”. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that receiving an infusion of human blood into their body’s circulatory system is scientifically the exact same thing as eating or ingesting blood into their body’s digestive system.

“A patient in the hospital maybe fed through the mouth, through the nose, or through the veins. When sugar solutions are given intravenously it is called intravenous feeding. So the hospital’s own terminology recognizes as feeding the process of putting nutrition into one’s system via the veins. Hence the attendant administering the transfusion is feeding the patient through the veins, and the patient receiving it is eating through his veins.” — The WATCHTOWER magazine, July 1, 1951.

Jehovah’s Witnesses refuse to acknowledge that when human blood is transfused into their body’s circulatory system that the transfused human blood remains to be human blood and continues to function as human blood. Jehovah’s Witnesses refuse to acknowledge that if blood is eaten, then the ingested blood enters the body’s digestive system, where the blood would be treated by the body exactly the same as it would treat a hotdog, a potato chip, or any other food item. Ingested blood would be completely digested and broken down into proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and waste; which are then either assimilated or excreted by the body.

The WatchTower Society uses scriptures which speak about the blood of slaughtered animals to teach Jehovah’s Witnesses that blood is “sacred” because blood is the “symbol of life”. Then, the WatchTower Society turns around and requires Jehovah’s Witnesses to sacrifice their own “life” to maintain the alleged “sacredness” of a “symbol” of the very thing they are sacrificing — their life. Jehovah’s Witnesses refuse to acknowledge that the WatchTower doctrine on blood places a higher value on the SYMBOL than it does on the THING SYMBOLIZED.

In fact, the Old Testament scriptures permitted the eating of unbled animal meat, which the Bible treats exactly the same as eating animal blood itself. In isolated occasions, when humans needed to eat unbled meat in order to sustain their own human life, the Mosaic Law permitted such, but then required the eaters to fulfill the requirements of being “unclean” for a few days. Thus, the Bible recognized that the sustaining of human life was more “sacred” than maintaining the sacredness of animal blood. To do otherwise would be doing exactly what the WatchTower Society does. It would make the SYMBOL more SACRED than the THING SYMBOLIZED.

In fact, the WatchTower Society is leading Jehovah’s Witnesses to disobey GOD and violate the Holy Scriptures in one of the most serious ways possible. Because humans were created in GOD’s image, GOD considers human life sacred. A Jehovah’s Witness who sacrifices their SACRED LIFE in order to maintain the sacredness of a SYMBOL of that SACRED LIFE varies little from those who profane life by committing suicide.

This twisting of scripture would be laughable if not for the fact that it has lead to the pointless deaths of numerous Jehovah’s Witnesses in the past, and it will continue to lead to the pointless deaths of many more Jehovah’s Witnesses in the future.

Laura1318: Thank you very much for your great input.

Yes, I believe modern medicine, technology, and progress in science are all just as much a part of God’s plan as are His laws of health. And just as there is bad things done in the name of science, and with technology, there are bad things preached in the name of God’s will. It is nice that we have our commonm sense and the availiability of prayer with the promise that if we ask we shall receive and if we knock things shall be opened up to us. Personal prayer and study are also vital components to aid the fight against religious bafoonery. And this bafoonery can come from all sorts places (lest you think I am picking on JWs)

Laura1318: Thanks for your comments, wisely said and I concur with you. I believe religion is a very powerful force which can totally control a person. A person can believed like one who has been hypnotized and does not know what they are doing .

i agree with you there is no question that some people are misguided. but in regard to dietary commandments (i myself am not a jehovah’s witness) how do you know that we dont have to obey those commandments? have you been told that? or did you figure it out by reading the Scriptures? did Jesus say we should eat pork? or did people interpret Him as saying that because they didnt understand a Jewish mind?

these are important questions because most christians dont even ask themselves these. they simply take what has been told to them as truth. what do you think?
peter

Laura1318: In Acts 10:10, Peter went up to the roof to pray and fell into a trance .He saw the sky open up, a great canvas was lowered down and inside were all sorts of animals ,snakes
and birds ( forbidden by the Jews to eat , see Leviticus 11) A voice told him to go kill and eat any animals you wish .Peter objected but the voice told him not to contradict God. What God decide is kosher, it is kosher. It was repeated three times and then left.
The food laws make it difficult for the Jews to eat with the Gentiles as they were considered unclean.Did the Gentiles followed the Jewish Dietery laws?

A very well known evangelist in the US proclaimed that we do not have to follow all those Old Testament dietery laws. I cannot remember his name. If you want to follow everyone of those laws , it is up to you.If you dont , it does not make you a lesser Christian.

There is no compulsion in Christianity . You can believe it willingly or you dont. No one can force you to believe anything you dont want or like . This is not a religion where the state can criminalize those religious laws and send you to jail for breaking any of their laws.

If you pray before you eat, God will sanctified and make those food clean. Is food really that important? What goes in will come out but what comes out from your heart, is what matters. God looks at your heart and not what you eat or don’t eat. This is my belief. Others may not agree with me. I will not change anyone’s belief and neither will I change my beliefs.

In the Bible, you are not allowed to eat swine , so a swine is also a pig….but many Christians eat pork? Do you consider yourself unclean if you eat pork? Do you just choose and pick whichever you like from the Bible ? Do eating pork make you a lesser Christian?

Just because some self righteous and more holy than thou Christian said the Bible says and throw the scriptures at you..Religion is between you and your God only . What you want to believe is up to you and if you are wrong ,God will teach you .

Roman 3:9 All people are sinners. Are the Jews better than the Gentiles ? No .The scripture says ,”No one is good ..no one in all the world is innocent .”All the world stands guilty before the Almighty God.No one can ever be made right in God’s sight by doing what the law commands.
