A Big Lavish Dream Wedding.

Posted on November 8, 2007. Filed under: Marriage Issues | Tags: , |

The wedding is the biggest day in the life of a girl. She thinks it is the only once in a life time experience  and she would like her big day to be a big ,memorable , sweet and romantic occasion.

Many girls dream of having a big , grand and auspicious wedding. If they are able to find a rich guy, their dreams would come true. For others , they may go to such a memorable wedding of their friends only.

Getting married today can be a very expensive affair. In the past, they only need to invite their friends  to their homes and have a simple meal .

Today , most weddings feast  are carried out in the school or public halls while for the rich to hold theirs in 4 or 5 star hotels.

Some couples are able to recover their wedding feast expenditure from the wedding gifts of cash and kind or they may only spend a few thousands to make up for the shortfalls.

Today , the ‘angpow’ or red packet is the norm in Chinese marriages. Inside the red envelope you put the cash inside. How much will depend on how close you are to the married couple.

If you are just normal and ordinary friends, you put M$30.00 to M$50.00. If you are very close friends or related , you may put in more .

If you are living on a very tight budget, a few weddings in a month can be a terrible strain on your finances. You cannot give  big angpows or you will be in debt. You hope your friends would understand.

Sometimes ,I wonder why we give so much angpow when we are supposed to be treated for a free feast by the happy couple. We are infact paying for our own food…LOL!

In smaller towns, people still give M$20.00 angpow and eat all they want .Luckily , they don’t open your angpows and record your amount.Otherwise , it would shame some of those well to do ones.

In some places , they would record the amount and the name of the person. Those people who give the small angpows do not write their names on it.So no one knows who are the owners .

A big opulent wedding does not guarantee the marriage may last. Recently the biggest wedding in Malaysia  costing 3.5 million ended up in divorce .

Would you spend a fortune on your wedding or be in debt just for that few hours ? Some think it is worth it. Others think it is better to use the money for more useful purpose , like buying a house  or go for a  vacation.

Whatever is your choice, getting married is just your first step  in the road to happy matrimony.Enjoy your journey!

Getting married is easier now with those wedding planners who plan everything for you . You only have to pay them their charges.

For some , the wedding thoughts are far removed from their minds as finding a boyfriend is an ardous task enough . LOL!
