Six Soups To Soothe A Cold

Catching a common cold is pretty common to some people. There are people who can catch cold easily and they learn to deal with it as a matter of fact way.

Acute viral nasopharyngitis, or acute coryza, usually known as the common cold, is a highly contagious, viral infectious disease of the upper respiratory system, primarily caused by some viruses (picornaviruses , rhinoviruses or coronaviruses.)

If one children catches it , it will soon spread to the other children in the family. As for adults, they can either get the medicine from OTC from those pharmacies or visit their GP’s.

Common symptoms are sore throat, runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing and cough; sometimes accompanied by ‘pink eye’, muscle aches, fatigue, malaise, headaches, muscle weakness, and loss of appetite.

A cold is relatively minor and it does not make us feel sick but a flu is more serious as
the viruses can get down into the chest and lungs and they infect our bronchial tubes .

There is no cure for the common cold. You can only take medications to alleviate their symptoms and gain some relief. Antibiotics are ineffective agains viruses. Some people may believe that taking plenty of vitamin C may stave off a cold when they feel a cold is coming.

There are others who take the traditional way to cure this cold by taking these six types of soup as a herbal remedy .

1) Chicken soup or chicken noodle soup.

4)Portuguese Bean Soup

5)Hlelem (Tunisian Vegetable and Bean Soup)

6)Thai Hot and Sour Soup
